Slieve Meelmore – Meelbeg Apr 2011

Saturday 2nd April 2011 was a fantastic day for walking the Mourne Mountains. The wind was about 20mph on the peaks and about 5.5c and we only saw a bit of rain during the last 10mins as we arrived back to the car park

The photo above shows SPELLACK which is on the lower slopes of Slieve Meelmore. This is a great place for would be mountaineers to practice their skills (but not me).

Myself with the Armagh Ramblers walked around Spellack and carried on to Meelmore and Meelbeg. It was a lovely route to take.

This is the Armagh Ramblers climbing the shoulders of SPELLACK not the rock face. (no rope and tackle for us)

A shot of the NMournes from the top of Slieve Meelmore.

YEP – Happy 75th Birthday Peter – 75 years young and still trekking, and where better to spend the day than doing what you love doing.
