Slieve Lamagan

Monday 14 November 2011 – Gordon and I went to the Mourne Mountains and climbed Slieve Lamagan (704m). It was a good day for hiking  – well at least it didn’t rain. It was a cloudy day and the temperature at ground level was 11 defrees.

We started at Carricklittle car park and walked the usual route to the coll between Slieve Binnian and Slieve Lamagan and then went to the summit – There the wind was about 14mph but it felt a lot stronger than that and the temperature was only 4 degrees (a wee bit chilly).

We then came down the far side onto Lower Cove and went to the cave – it was wet and slippy at the entrance so we decided not to enter the cave. We then headed for home – A great day in the great outdoors.
